Rep. Robert Garcia received no reply to his request for architectural plans, budgets, and donor lists.
Sen. Adam Schiff’s letter about donors and ethics went unanswered.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren asked about financing and questioned the ballooning cost.
Catherine Townsend, president of the Trust for the National Mall, said the nonprofit “is managing private donations gifted to support the project,” but is not involved in planning or design.
