🎬 Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz Reunite for The Mummy 4
Fans of The Mummy franchise have reason to celebrate — Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are officially set to reunite for the long-awaited fourth installment of Universal’s beloved adventure series, according to Variety and other major outlets.
The new project is reportedly in development with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the filmmaking duo behind Ready or Not and the recent Scream reboot. The script is being penned by David Coggeshall, known for his work on Orphan: First Kill and Prey.
Although Universal Pictures has yet to make an official announcement or confirm a release date, insiders say the film aims to revive the classic mix of action, horror, and humor that made The Mummy trilogy a late-’90s phenomenon.
This reunion marks a major moment for both stars. Brendan Fraser, who recently made a stunning career comeback with his Oscar-winning performance in The Whale, first gained international fame as adventurer Rick O’Connell in The Mummy (1999) and its sequels. Rachel Weisz, who played the brilliant and fearless Evelyn Carnahan, went on to win an Academy Award for The Constant Gardener.
Fans have long hoped for the return of these iconic characters, and now, after more than two decades, The Mummy is officially being resurrected.
If everything moves forward as planned, production could begin in 2025 — bringing back the thrilling spirit of ancient curses, desert adventures, and the timeless chemistry between Fraser and Weisz.
