In a healthy relationship, your partner should respect and acknowledge you. If they refuse to publicly recognize your relationship, constantly accuse you of cheating, talk over or interrupt you, or shame you for your past or choices, these are major red flags. Similarly, belittling your career goals or refusing to take responsibility for mistakes shows a lack of respect and support.
A truly caring partner will notice when they hurt you and make an effort to change. If they knowingly hurt you and do nothing, or apologize but never adjust their behavior, this is a clear sign of a toxic dynamic. No matter how much you love someone, these behaviors are unacceptable and should never be tolerated.
